UPCOMING EVENTS
Row Ho Ho - Saturday, December 7th
Time for the annual FWRC Row Ho Ho event! Club members like to dream up fun ways (excuses?) to enjoy some friendly competition, a chance to compare our naughty/nice lists, share some good eats, and in general keep the camaraderie alive and well during this festive time of year! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Marine Creek Lake. FWRC and TCU Rowers will Race in 8+ dressed in Christmas Rowing Gear. There will be some unique races like how fast to turn a 60’ Boat around 3 times, or how far can your crew go in 20 strokes. Key is to let the boat run. Of course we will have a feast following the on water activities. |
ERG-FEST is Back
Now that the Fall Head Race season is over, and it is getting dark earlier in the evening, the Club has kicked off the Wednesday evening ERG-FEST. Join Amy and Lee and other Club members on Wednesday, starting at 6pm, at Beach St. for a fun/motivational workout.

Holiday Challenge 2019
November 28–December 24
Row, ski or ride 100k or 200k meters between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and help raise money for one of five great charities.
The 2019 charities are:
For every thousand meters rowed up to 100,000 meters, Concept 2 will donate 2 cents to one of five charities of your choosing, and 4 cents per 1000 meters above 100,000. Here’s the math: if you row 6000 meters per day, you’ll raise about $125 for charity in addition to keeping yourself in rowing shape to start your winter.
New rowers can setup a logbook account on the Concept 2 site and join the FWRC Team via the “Teams” link at the top of the page. Next step, choose your charity and start rowing! Every time you finish a row, just enter the number of meters you rowed on your logbook. If you're rowing with a PM5 monitor, you can connect to that and upload your meters directly.
All indoor rowing meters count - apparently even those not rowed on a Concept 2 – as well as SkiErg and BikeErg (counts for half) meters if you happen to own or have access to one. FWRC Ergfest on Wednesdays at 6 p.m., run by Lee and Amy, is a great opportunity to get your meters in and chill with some other members.
